Lita Rossana Ford, also called Lita Ford, is an American musician, singer and guitarist born in Britain. She played lead guitar in The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all girls from the 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and provocative lyrics helped them get noticed by the rock community. The band was not able to achieve major success on the scene in The United States but earned huge recognition abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford embarked on a heavy-metal solo career when the group broke up in 1979. She took vocal lessons and recorded her first solo album , 'Out For Blood' and 'Dancin' On the Edge.
